Sterling silver isn't a traditional choice for engagement rings, but it can make a meaningful and affordable option that’s just as beautiful as gold. 

Absolutely. Mixing silver and gold is all about creating a look that’s filled with contrast. The cool elegance of a silver ring paired with the warmth of gold is a great way to create a look that’s unique to you and no one else. 

Sterling silver typically won’t do this. A green tint comes from any copper, or alloys containing copper, that react with moisture and acids in your skin, and none of our jewellery contains this. 

A Francesca silver ring radiates its best when looked after with a little tender loving care:

• Gentle regular wear helps keep tarnish at bay, as your skin’s natural oils polish the metal. Avoid chemicals that can dull the finish, like in pools, beauty products, or cleaning agents for example. When not worn, store in an anti-tarnish pouch or soft cloth.
• To clean, use a soft polishing cloth or a gentle mix of warm water and mild soap. Always dry completely to preserve shine.

• Cut a piece of string long enough to secure around your fingers.
• Wrap it around the base of your finger (make sure it’s at the widest part of your finger) and ensure it’s a snug yet comfortable fit.
• Using a pen or marker, mark where the ends of the string overlap.
• Lay the string flat against a ruler or some measuring tape and measure the length in millimetres.
